Schedule
2009 Amateur Competition East Coast
Mason Dixon Riding Association
(tracks in WV, Pa., Md.)
The MDRA series has proven to be a premier east coast race series. Run by racers such as the Yentzer Brothers, MDRA is racer-friendly to the core. First of all, you get a Saturday practice day, which serves a couple purposes. The first is safety, since riders get a full day learning the track. The second is it gives families an opportunity to camp out for a full weekend of riding.
Check out the MDRA series, beginning in March at Budds Creek, with other rounds:

AMA Amateur Arenacross Series
If you have always wanted to race Supercross then amateur Arenacross is something you should try. The amateur program runs on Sundays, after the Friday and Saturday night main events are done. Classes range from pee wee to over 40, where you will occasionally find Team Moto East racers.
Regional series consist of a few events each, with the Northeast region events taking place at Baltimore, Maryland, Greensboro, NC; and Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania

Loretta Lynn's Amateur National Championships
The granddaddy of all amateur race events. A championship at the national finals at Loretta Lynn's ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, can be a ticket to a factory ride. The competition at Loretta's is intense, even in the Vet classes, which might put you up against former pros like Doug Dubach, Jeff Emig, or Trampas Parker. None other than Ricky Carmichael has threatened to return to the ranch some day in the vet class.
