EVS Evolution Neck Collar

Ironically enough, the first time I strapped on the EVS neck collar I had a pretty hard fall at the Baltimore Arenacross. I didn't plan this, but I guess I can look at the bright side-it gave me an opportunity to test the protection factor of the collar.

Neck braces/collars have become almost mandatory at the local mx tracks, though not everybody swears by them. One reason a brace can take some getting used to is because is designed to restrict head and neck movement to some degree. This odd feeling disappears within a couple laps, at least it did for me. But it is enough to keep some riders from wearing them.

I used the EVS Neck Collar with the EVS Rev 05 Chest Protector, which I wore under my jersey. This works very well with the chest protector over your jersey, or under it.
It also works with standard plastic chest protectors very easily.

If you take a hard landing head first in a crash, you will be glad you invested in a neck brace. Check one out.
