Tomahawk Raceway

Nestled in the West Virginia hills near the town of Hedgesville, Tomahawk is a track that has steadily improved over the past years as a practice and race location.

We like Tomahawk because of the fast downhills, fun jumps and challenging layout that is still pretty safe. Tomahawk mixes it up with steep-face Supercross type obstacles as well as straightaways through the woods that can resemble hare scrambles at certain times.

Us east coast riders know that in our region mud is a fact of life. Tomahawk, being open seven days a week, may not be perfectly prepped on that one weekday you show up, but a recent practice there recently proved that the track crew kept the dozers busy keeping Tomahawk reasonably smooth. On other days the track gets mudy and rutted, but that is great practice for raceday.

Tomahawk is a jumper’s track. Chad Gochenaur likes airtime so you will find some big tabletops and some fast doubles here to keep things interesting.

It costs $25 to ride at Tomahawk if you are a member and $40 if you are not. Check the Tomahawk Web site for details on membership.
