Red Bull/Honda’s Davi Millsaps schooled the field in the first 450 moto, besting Australian Chad Reed and everybody else. Davi is reportedly riding with a neck injury that limits his mobility, but he showed no weakness at Budds. He finished 6th in the second moto for second overall.

Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki rider Ryan Dungey negotiates Henry Hill on his RMZ250 at Budds Creek. Ryan is one of the fastest 250F riders on the planet and sits second in national points to French phenomenon Christophe Pourcel and his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki.

The umbrellas came out along with NBC live coverage for moto two of the 450s. Chad Reed was salivating for his chance to crush the competition.

This is Monster Energy/Pro Circuit rider Jake Weimer after the first moto. Is he pointing out the real stars of the show? Little did he know what conditions he would face in moto two after the downpour of rain. Jake won the overall at Budds Creek.

Here is an example of Budd Creek grooming, with a long range shot of Chad Reed racing to the 450 overall win and the 2009 outdoor national championship. Despite Chad’s long history of winning, this is his first outdoor championship in the USA. He is a former world champion.

Ryan Dungey seemed miffed at finishing third in moto one, but took third overall after a brutal second moto in the mud. He salutes the Budds Creek faithful.
